Gutter Spa Club repairs gutters and downspouts on homes across the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Conejo valleys. We reseal leaking corners and end caps, re-hang sagging runs, replace hangers, reattach downspouts and replace damaged sections. When a whole system is worn out, we replace it with new seamless gutters. Call (818) 913-1626 Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, or request an estimate.
What gutter repairs do you do?
| What you see | The repair |
|---|---|
| A drip or stain below a corner or end cap | Old sealant cleaned out, joint resealed |
| A belly between two hangers, often holding water | Section re-hung with new hangers |
| Daylight between the gutter and the fascia board | Fasteners reset where the fascia is sound |
| Water still sitting in the gutter days after rain | Run re-pitched toward the downspout |
| A hole or a drip through the bottom in one spot | Patched |
| A downspout loose at an elbow, off the wall, or crushed at the bottom | Reattached, re-strapped, or the damaged piece replaced |
| A dented, split or corroded length of gutter | That section replaced |

A few notes from doing this every day.
Sags usually start with weight. Wet debris sits between two hangers, the hanger pulls out of the fascia, water pools, and the next hanger goes. Older homes in Van Nuys and North Hollywood often have spike-and-ferrule hangers every three or four feet. Modern hidden hangers go every two feet or closer, and re-hanging the whole run with new ones is often worth it when the metal is still good.
A gutter should fall about a quarter inch every ten feet toward the outlet. Runs lose that pitch when hangers loosen, when a roofer takes the gutters down and puts them back without re-leveling, or when the house settles.
If the fascia behind a loose gutter is soft from years of overflow, it won’t hold a screw. The wood has to be repaired before the gutter goes back up, and we’ll show you what we found.
Copper gutters, which some hillside homes in Calabasas and Woodland Hills have, don’t get replaced. They get resealed and re-hung.
Should I repair or replace?
It mostly comes down to how much of the house has the problem.
| Sign | Usually a repair | Usually a replacement |
|---|---|---|
| Sagging | One or two sections | Most of a run, or spike hangers every few feet |
| Leaking joints | One corner or end cap | Every corner, or sectional seams every ten feet |
| Pulled from fascia | Fastener reset, fascia sound | Fascia rotted along the run |
| Rust or holes | One patchable spot | Rust or pitting along the run |
| Standing water | One section re-pitched | Whole system re-hung, and the metal is tired |
| Overflowing | Clogged, fixed by a cleaning | Overflows when clean, undersized for the roof |
| Age | Aluminum under 15 years | Steel or sectional past 20, or vinyl |
Gutters that overflow when they’re clean are a sizing problem. It shows up on tile-roof homes where long valleys push a lot of water into one section, and on big roofs with too few downspouts. Adding a downspout or going from five-inch to six-inch gutter is the fix. Gutter styles and sizing explains the difference, and signs your gutters need repair shows what each problem looks like from the ground.
What if the gutters need to be replaced?
We replace them with seamless gutters. The options are aluminum in five and six inch K-style and half-round, plus copper, with matching downspouts, leader heads and rain chains in a range of colors. Seamless gutters are run on site from a coil and have joints only at the corners, so the leak-every-ten-feet problem of sectional gutters goes away.
Profiles, downspouts and colors are on our products page, and you can request an installation estimate there.
How do you find the problem?
Every gutter cleaning includes a look at hangers, seams, pitch and downspouts. If we see a pulled hanger or a loose downspout strap, we’ll usually reset it while we’re up there. If we see something bigger, we tell you what we found and what it’ll take.
You don’t need a cleaning to get a repair looked at. If something is dripping, sagging or hanging loose, send us a note with what you’re seeing.
Members on the recurring plans get this inspection on every visit, which is how small problems stay small.
What don’t you repair?
Underground drain lines. Where a downspout ties into a buried pipe, we test the flow and tell you where it’s blocked, and a drain plumber clears or replaces the line. Our downspout guide explains how to tell if the problem is below grade.
How much does gutter repair cost?
Small fixes found during a cleaning, like resetting a strap or re-screwing a hanger, are usually minor. Anything bigger, like replacing a section or re-pitching a run, is priced on its own before we do it.
Repairs come before gutter guards. A guard never goes on over a problem gutter.
