Gutter Cleaning starts at $150. Your estimate depends on the house, and it's free.
Gutter Spa Club cleans gutters on homes across the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Conejo and Simi valleys, from Burbank to Thousand Oaks. We check every gutter run and downspout on the house, and you only pay for the gutter that needs cleaning. Estimates are free. Call (818) 913-1626 Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, or request an estimate.
What does a gutter cleaning include?
The same things on every house:
- Debris removed from every gutter run, by gutter vacuum or by hand
- The whole system flushed with water so we can see it drain
- Every downspout flushed, and any blocked one cleared from the top, from the bottom, or by pulling the elbow
- Tile roof valleys above the gutter line emptied, so the first rain doesn’t wash that debris straight back in
- A look at hangers, seams, pitch and downspout straps while we’re up there
- Photos on request, so you can see the before and after without climbing anything
If a downspout ties into an underground drain, we test the flow to the outlet and tell you if the buried line isn’t taking water. We don’t dig up drain lines, but we’ll tell you where the blockage is so a plumber can go straight to it. Our downspout guide explains how that works.
If we see a pulled hanger or a loose downspout strap, we’ll usually reset it on the spot. Anything bigger goes in the summary we leave you. Gutter repair covers what we fix.
How do you clean the gutters?
With a gutter vacuum wherever it can be used. It’s our first choice, it’s on the truck for every job, and it matters most on two-story homes and tile roofs. The vacuum gets a gutter cleaner than hands can, and the debris goes into the vacuum instead of onto your property.

On a smaller single-story home we clean by hand.
We prefer not to use a blower. It clears the gutter by throwing everything out of it, and that lands on the windows, the walls and the walkways below. Once in a while a job calls for one, but it isn’t how we like to work.
How often should gutters be cleaned here?
Twice a year for most homes. More under oaks, pines or eucalyptus, and in the hillside neighborhoods where Santa Ana winds refill a clean gutter in an afternoon.
| Home conditions | How often | When |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy tree cover or high debris exposure | 3 to 4 times a year | Late spring, late summer, late fall, plus a winter check as needed |
| Standard residential landscape | 2 times a year | Late spring and late fall, before peak winter rain |
| Low tree cover, minimal debris | 1 to 2 times a year | Late fall, with a check after major wind events |
The late-summer visit matters in the fire zones. Dry leaves and needles in a gutter are what wind-blown embers ignite, so homes in Calabasas, Topanga Canyon, Porter Ranch and the other hillside areas should have the roof edge cleared before red flag season. Gutters and wildfire has the details, and how often to clean gutters has the schedule by tree type.
How much does gutter cleaning cost?
Our minimum for a gutter cleaning is $150. On a small single-story home that sometimes covers the whole job.
We charge for the gutter that needs cleaning, not for the size of the house. If your home has 200 feet of gutter and only 75 feet are dirty, you pay for the 75 feet.
Past that, the price varies too much from house to house to publish a range, so here’s what drives it.
A gutter cleaning is labor and risk, with no expensive material. The price follows how long the job takes and how hard the house is to work on. Two things move it most.
The first is stories. A single-story ranch is fast. A two-story home needs an extension ladder repositioned every eight to ten feet, and a hillside home can be one story from the street and three on the downhill side.
The second is debris. A gutter cleaned twice a year is never a heavy job. A gutter left for three years always is.
Linear feet of gutter, roof pitch and material, gutter guards, the number of downspouts and ladder access make up the rest. Our cost guide walks through each one so you can tell where your house will land.
The estimate is free and it’s for your house specifically. We can usually work it out from satellite and 3D map views of your roof, so nobody has to come out first and you don’t need to be home. Ask for one here.
How do you handle tile roofs and two-story homes?
Tile takes more care than composition shingle. We can walk it and rest a ladder on the tile edge when a job calls for it, but we’d rather not if we can avoid it, so the gutter vacuum is our first choice on these homes. Most of the Santa Clarita Valley and Conejo Valley is tile, and a lot of our work is two-story tile-roof homes, so this is routine for us.
On a two-story home the vacuum reaches the gutter from the ground on a long pole.

We carry ladders in the right lengths, standoffs sized for different roof edges, and levelers for sloped ground. If you’re weighing whether to do it yourself, this guide is honest about when that’s safe and when it isn’t.
What if I already have gutter guards?
Then the visit is guard maintenance. We clear whatever is sitting on top of the guard, check the valleys and inside corners where debris piles up against it, and lift sections where fine debris has built up underneath. Downspouts get flushed the same as on any cleaning.
Foam and brush inserts are the exception. We take those out as part of the cleaning, because they hold wet debris and make the gutter harder to keep clear. If you’re thinking about guards, gutter guard installation covers what we install and why.
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can get to the gutters, we can do the work and leave you a summary of what we did and what we found. If you’re in a gated community, we coordinate with the gate ahead of the appointment.
Is there a plan for recurring cleanings?
Yes. Gutter Spa Membership is free, and you’re enrolled automatically after your first cleaning. You pick quarterly, twice-yearly or annual service. The more frequent the plan, the lower the price per cleaning, because a gutter that’s cleaned often is lighter work. We handle the scheduling and the reminders, and members get priority scheduling ahead of major rain and wind events.
What else can you do on the same visit?
- Gutter repair: resealing a leaking corner, re-hanging a sagging section, reattaching a downspout
- Gutter guard installation, which always starts with a cleaning anyway
- Gutter brightening, which removes the black streaks on the outside face of the gutter. It’s cosmetic and priced separately.
